I too lived there as a military wife ( Army ). We lived in a couple of towns while there. The then husband who is now an ex. / and deceased was a chaplains' assistant. I played for all the military Sunday church services and also funerals.

I remember s special day set aside and it was a religous event. The town was decorated w/ all flower pedals and we walked behind the priest. Don't remember the name of this event but seemed to only be in Kindsbach.Maybe someone can help w/ what that ceremonys' name was. It was in 1968. So so beautiful. The husband was staioned at Vogelweh Army Base and we would go to Ramstein AFB after church. There was an A&W root beer stand but don't remember exactly where eactly its' location. We lived in an upstairs house w/ a German landlady who was a nurse. Prior we lived in Kaiserslatern.I spoke German fluently and knew the customs and of ccourse the currency. I learned in 2 weeks.

I sure miss the beautiful town of Kindsbach. When looking out the back window or going to the back of the house especially on a day when it was blanketed w/ snow the locomotive trains would go by. I wish I could return.
I am glad I looked up Kindsbach and found this site. Again thank you for sharing the pictures and for allowing us to blog about our times in Gernaby.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4632992664528481746.post-19496298493189835352011-12-19T22:31:19.824+01:002011-12-19T22:31:19.824+01:00I was stationed at Panzer Kaserne from 67/68 and l...I was stationed at Panzer Kaserne from 67/68 and lived off post, in Kindsbach, with my wife in a small apartment above a home.
