Megan's Little Kitchen

In an attempt to make healthier food and have a more diverse culinary repertoire, I have started a cookbook blog - I feel that this will force me to consistently try out new and healthy recipes. This week's experiment was Ratatouille:

If you would like to be emailed each time the new blog is updated, let me know - otherwise, I'll keep my cooking adventures to myself :)

Fall is Falling

Fall is creeping into Kindsbach - the vines outside of our house are changing color as are the woods surrounding our little town.

Here are some of the prettiest houses in and around our neighborhood.

I have received repeated requests for pictures of our house with our furniture inside of it -
here you go!

Below is the "Baby's" Room - all of the shower gifts are spread out on the guest bed.

Here is my preggo belly at almost 7 months along.

And since there haven't been any pictures of Cody on this blog for months, here is a video of him playing the drum set for Rock Band.

The New KMC Mall

Sorry that the pictures are dark - it was raining today. Here are some pictures of our newly-opened mall on Ramstein AB. Take a look!

Our next appointment is on September 15th - we'll be posting more pictures of Jack then!

Back Home & Baby Shower!

I am back home in New Mexico and having a wonderful time with family and friends! Here are some pictures of my time with family and of the Baby Shower!

In the picture above, we're setting up - my baby shower "crew" (Mom, Jacque, Allison, Nikki, etc.) worked so hard to make it a beautiful shower.

Above are the centerpieces for the tables - the animals are home-made chocolate lollipops.

One of the games we played was "Name That Poo" - Jacque melted 4-5 different candy bars into diapers and we had to guess by sight and smell which were which.

Another game was a "Sippie Cup Chugging Contest" - we had four adults and four kids try to be the first to finish lemonade out of sippie cups.

Poor Catey! One of the Sippie cups sprung a leak.

Jacque made balloon animals as a part of the decorations.

The cake was made and decorated by Jacque's mother, Allison - it came out incredible!

Everyone blew best wishes bubbles for baby Jack.

I got some wonderful gifts!

Here are some souvineers I brought back from Germany for my crew!

Above is Jacque in her new dirndle, the official "German Barmaid Dress."

Here we are singing with the family.
And last but not least, here are the Grandmothers-to-be.
More pictures of the trip will be posted as they are taken - I'll be back in Germany on August 29th.

Jack Ethan - 23 Weeks

As promised, here are a few pictures of Baby Jack. We had a Glucose Screening Test today - they took blood, measured my normal blood sugar levels and then had me drink the most sugary, syrupy grape-flavored stuff you can imagine. I had to wait an hour and then they gave me a finger prick to check the sugar levels again. The first reading (without the sugar drink) was 59 - the second reading came out at 138 - apparently anything below 160 is considered great, so I'm off the hook for Gestational Diabetes.

Above is an outline of baby's head and shoulders - he's getting big! He weighs about 1.3 pounds and is almost 11 inches long from head to foot.

It may be difficult to make out, but the snapshot above is of
Jack's right foot pushing out against mom's tummy.

For those who don't know, I've been getting ready all this week to go home (to New Mexico) on Friday! I'll be there for a week to enjoy spending time with family. I am sorry to everyone I've been out of touch with - hopefully this blog has kept you all up to date on my life!

Sugar Cookies!

Yellow Room made sugar cookies today as refreshments for a parent gathering this evening.

We were fresh off of our ninja film, hence the ninja-themed cookies.

Next ultrasound is tomorrow - I will update and let you know how Jack and I are doing!
